The Outdoor School Associate program is a 2- year paid position running from mid-August of the starting year, to mid-August of the second year. The position focuses on developing a well-rounded knowledge of outdoor education programming, facilitation, and school partnerships.
As a part of this program, associates will have the opportunity to explore their interests in outdoor and nature education while pursuing a deeper level of professional development as a stepping stone for their careers.
Outdoor School Associates will work closely around a T-Th school retreat schedule while also participating in school/community outreach, teacher workshops, and professional development opportunities. The Outdoor School Associate position will work closely with both the Community Camping Director and Assistant Director of Outdoor School while reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Outdoor School.
The ideal Outdoor School Associate candidate has a passion for outdoor and nature education programming with children, is either certified or willing to receive certifications in lifeguarding and high ropes or, and has prior experience or education in natural sciences, education, or youth development practices.

The Outdoor School Associate position allows for overlap between incoming and outgoing Associates. Applications open in November of the year preceding the position start year, with applications accepted until March of the starting year. Positions will remain open until filled.
